“History of Muslim Civilizations” is an enlightening and comprehensive course that delves into the rich and diverse history of Muslim societies from the time of Prophet Muhammad SW to the present day. This course explores the rise and expansion of Islamic civilization, its cultural and scientific achievements, and its impact on global history.

 

Students will journey through the formative years of Islam, the establishment and growth of empires and dynasties, the flourishing of knowledge and sciences during the Golden Age, impact of outside invasions and colonization and the reasons for decline. The course also will cover critical analysis of events and lessons that can be applied in the present.

 

Through a combination of lectures, projects and interactive discussions, students will gain a deep understanding of the significant events and figures that have shaped Muslim civilizations. This course aims to provide students with a nuanced appreciation of the historical complexities and will help shape an informed perspective of the modern world.
